Delbert Ambrosio Obituary
Delbert Richard "Dick" Ambrosio, of Loveland, Colorado departed this earth on January 28, 2014. He was born on November 21, 1935 in Denver. His parents were Lucille Ambrosio (Clark) and Victor "Red" Ambrosio. He lived in North Denver and attended North High School, class of '53. He lived his entire life in Colorado. He was a self-made man who started by repairing bicycles, glazing glass and fixing locks. He became a partner in Colorado Building Specialties, the largest window and door company in 7 states. He was co-owner of a wholesale giftware and decorative accessories firm, The Ambrosio Company. He was also a builder, a contractor, an inventor and master-mind fix-it-guy. In his retirement, he loved to shop auctions where he haggled and bartered, he loved a good deal. He would buy to re-sell or buy to fix-up mechanical things especially old player pianos and juke boxes. He was a vintage car collector and a member of the Northern Colorado Model T Club and the Model A Ford Club both of America and Loveland. He bought and proudly drove one of the only 9,000 Deloreans ever made. He was a hunter, a fisherman, a craps shooter and a Bronco Fan! He attended Faith Lutheran Church in Johnstown, CO. He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Carol Jean (Tillman) Ambrosio of Brule, NE; their 3 children: Del Ambrosio (wife Diane), Debbie Nathan (husband Mike), Deanna Schindler (husband John); 8 grandchildren: Richard Ambrosio (wife Emily), Matthew Nathan, Andrew Ambrosio, Melissa Fischer (husband Scott), Marcus Nathan (wife Jill), Daniel Ambrosio, Mitchell Nathan, Ashley Adams; 5 great-grandchildren: Carter Ambrosio, Alyson Ambrosio, Abigail Fischer, Abbott Ambrosio and Shane Wells with 2 more on the way; 1 sibling: Dusty Ambrosio; 2 half-siblings: Nanette (Ferree) Brandt, and Ron Ferree; Marilyn Miller, Connie Cannone and dozens of other cousins and relations; He was preceded in death by his parents Lucille Clark, Victor Ambrosio and sister Judy Lorenzo. There will be a viewing at 10:00am Wednesday, February 5, 2014 at Allnutt Funeral Service followed by the Funeral Service at 11:00am. There will be a reception following the Funeral Service in the Allnutt Reception Center. Inurnment will be at Lakeside Cemetery in Loveland.
