Frances Davis Obituary
Frances Margaret Davis, 84, went Home to Christ on Sunday, March 9, 2014, while attending church. We praise the Lord for that beautiful picture! She was born in Kiowa, Colorado on October 6, 1929 and moved to Longmont in her toddler years. Frances attended high school in Longmont, attended college and finished her nursing degree later in life. She obtained a BSA of nursing and her teaching certificate after her husband's death while completing the raising of her three daughters. Fran spent her years as a nurse in many health industries. She was a home health nurse, taught nursing in Denver and at community college in Fort Collins. Fran enjoyed caring for the elderly at Good Samaritan in Fort Collins so much that she worked there until she reluctantly retired at age 80. She married Donald Davis in Longmont, Colorado December 23, 1950. They moved to Loveland within the first year of their marriage where they raised four children. She was an active member of First Christian Church for 60 years, playing in the bell choir, attending women's fellowship, serving at funerals, and frolicking with the OWLS group. She loved woodworking, reading, bridge club, and spending as much time as she could with family. Fran was preceded in death by her husband Donald Davis in 1972, a son Stephen in 1960, 2 brothers, John and Charles, and a sister, Irma. Fran is survived by her sister Carol Mc Afee of Florida, her daughters Tricia Willcutts (Bill), Bobbie Carlson, and Donali Townsley (Lynn), grandchildren Bobbe Jo, Scott (Karen) and Jeff (Sarah), and 2 great grandchildren. She was loved by many nieces and nephews, extended family, and friends for her listening ear, her wisdom and her laughter. Cremation has been conducted and a celebration of her life memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday from the First Christian Church, 2000 N. Lincoln Ave., in Loveland. Memorial contributions may be directed to the First Christian Church music program.
