Henry Zimmerman Obituary
Henry Victor Zimmerman, 92, of Berthoud, CO died on March 24th, 2013 at Medical Center of the Rockies in Loveland. He was born on January 4, 1921 in Johnstown, CO to Henry and Katherine Margaret (Rothe) Zimmerman. Henry has lived in the Loveland/Berthoud area all of his life. He attended Mountain View grade school. He followed in the family tradition of farming and formed a partnership with his brother Walter. They grew wheat and barley for Johnstown Feed and Seed, and also grew sugar beets for Great Western Sugar Company. Zimmerman Bros Farms was recognized as one of the top 10 sugar beet growers for many years. Henry was married to Irma Schroeder in 1947 and later divorced in 1970. He enjoyed polka music, dancing, and collecting cars. He was a member of Zion Lutheran Church and was a lifetime member of the Loveland Elks Lodge. Henry is survived by sisters, Elvera Frank and Virginia Horst and sister in law Anneliese Zimmerman, as well as numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother, Walter Zimmerman, his sister Elnora Bernhardt and brother in laws, Harry Frank and Robert Horst. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM, Thursday, March 28, 2013 at Zion Lutheran Church. Viewing will be from 3-5:00 PM, Wednesday at Kibbey Fishburn Funeral Home and also at the church prior to the service. Committal services will be held at 11:00 AM, Friday at Loveland Burial Park. Memorial contributions may be made to Zion Lutheran Church, Meals on Wheels, or the Loveland Elks Lodge in care of Kibbey Fishburn Funeral Home.
