Ila Gentry Obituary
Ila Sue (Parsons) Gentry passed away at the young age of 57 years old on October 23, 2013 at her home in Loveland, CO after a courageous 5 year battle with ovarian cancer. Ila was born in Tulsa, OK on August 26, 1956 to William Henry and Faye Helen (Faulkner) Parsons. She had a great and loving family growing up in Tulsa. Ila graduated from East Central High School where she met the love of her life, Gary Gentry. Ila and Gary were married at Our Savior Lutheran on April 5, 1975 in Tulsa, OK. The focus of Ila's life was her family. She was an amazing Wife, Mother, and Grandmother with the affectionate name of Bam. As a young girl, Ila was a member of the Girl Scouts where she attained the Gold Award, their highest level. This led Ila to a life in Dentistry as an assistant, manager, and then Dental Hygienist. After moving to Colorado in 1998, She worked for Dr. Cliff Rogge and Dr. Amy Farmer in Longmont. Ila and Gary shared in their love for their family. Ila was an adventurous soul where she and Gary traveled the world. She especially loved Italy. Late in life they enjoyed riding together on their Harley Davidson. Ila led a balanced life looking after her mind, body, and spirit. Ila and Gary had a strong faith in Jesus Christ attending First Lutheran Church in Longmont. Ila has touched many lives with her beautiful, caring heart. She will be truly missed by all. Ila was preceded in death by her father. She is survived by her husband Gary Gentry of Loveland; her daughters Julia Lee Tupper of Windsor and Elizabeth Ann Donaghey (Paul) of Longmont; her mother Faye Helen Parsons of Knoxville, TN; her grandchildren Madison and Aiden Tupper, and Gabriel and Thorbin Donaghey; and her brother Ricky Parsons (Ellen) of Knoxville, TN. Visitation will take place from 4:00-7:00 PM Friday October 25, 2013 at Ahlberg Funeral Chapel in Longmont, CO with family present to greet friends. Funeral service will be 1:00 PM Saturday October 26, 2013 at First Evangelical Lutheran Church in Longmont, CO. Burial will follow at Ryssby Cemetery.
