Mick graduated from Scotts Bluff High School. He attended the University of Northern Colorado. He traveled with the singing group Jeremiah People in 1972. He married the love of his life Karen Smith on March 29, 1975. Mick was a devout Christian who dedicated his life to ministry from an early age. He was a faithful husband to his wife Karen and a dedicated and loving father to his five children and two grandchildren. All those who knew him best describe him as selfless, honest, gentle, kind and driven by a deep commitment to his personal integrity. Mick served his country in the National Guard and then the United States Air Force. He later served as a youth minister in Omaha, NE. In 1983 he moved his young family to Lawrence, KS to continue his calling in youth ministry. In 1988 his family made Loveland, CO their home. He served his community recently at House of Neighborly Service which gave him the opportunity to help others which was his passion. Mick was at home in the Rocky Mountains, they were his sanctuary. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and most of all camping with his family. He loved to play his guitar and sing around a campfire. He was an avid baseball enthusiast. So much so, that he took a part-time job as an usher at Coors Field so that he could be a part of the game. He loved all things "Western"; John Wayne, Louis L'Amour novels and old western movies. Above all he loved God and his family; dedicating his life to both. Mick is survived by his wife Karen; son Zack and wife Bekki; daughter Erin and husband Mike; sons Ryan, Tyler and Travis; grandchildren Ella and Xavier; his sisters Linda Gross, MaryAnn Baldwin, Barbara Diener; brother Thomas Diener.
