Roger Dale Hanson, 89, of Loveland died August 28, 2013 at The Aspen House in Loveland. He was born March 24, 1924 in Sioux Rapids, Iowa to Wilfred and Effie Hanson. Roger proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during WWII. After the war Roger farmed in Iowa and later went into agricultural sales. He moved his family to Loveland in 1962. After retirement he enjoyed working with the Loveland Parks and Recreation Department. Roger was a member of King of Glory Lutheran Church. He loved reading, and rode a motorcycle for many years. He also enjoyed taking road trips which gave him an excuse to study his atlas for hours. Roger is survived by his sons Steve and Tim Hanson; daughters Susan Blackwell, Lisa Myres, and Cindy Compton. He raised his granddaughter Bobbi. He is also survived by his brothers Calvin and Julius Hanson; sisters Phylis Coulter and Wilma Wenck; 10 grandchildren; 4 step-grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren and 1 great great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by his wife of 64 years Lois Hanson and his brother Wayne. Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, September 3, 2013, 10:00 A.M. at King of Glory Lutheran Church with viewing 1 hour prior to the services.
