Roland Bower Obituary
Roland “Bud” Bower Jr., 76, of Loveland passed away on November 24, 2012. Bud was born November 12, 1936 to Roland and Vivian (Chapman) Bower in Churchville, NY. He grew up in Le Roy New York and moved to Loveland in the early 70's from Rochester. He worked for Eastman Kodak and was instrumental in building the Windsor plant. Bud was a design engineer there until his retirement in 1991. After retirement he began a second career as a bus driver where he transported special needs children in the Thompson School District and the elderly residents at Good Samaritan Village. Bud married Marietta Stevens in 2009 in Scottsdale, AZ. Bud has a huge presence and personality. He loved all people and considered everyone a friend. Bud loved Colorado and the outdoors. He was a kind and gentle warrior who always had a great sense of humor, even until the end. Bud is survived by his wife and partner of over 13 years, Marietta; his son Kevin Bower (Jennifer) of Loveland; his daughters Julie Bower (Bob) of Fort Collins, Cheryl Bower (Donnie) of Aurora, Heather Herning (Johnny) of Alabama and his children's mother Marie; his brothers Barry Bower of Pennsylvania, Brian Bower (Kate) of Virginia, Craig Bower (Pat) of New York and Robin Bower (Mary) of New York; his sister Candace Bower of New York; his step sons Tim, Tom and Mike Stevens; his grandchildren Brendan and Bailey of Loveland, Tia, Zachary, Lauren, Alexander and Jaydon of Loveland, Kristen of Aurora and Cody, Brayton and Austyn of Alabama; and his great-grandchildren Hailey and Lowan. He is preceded in death by his parents, daughter Debra Lynn, brother Bruce, mother-in-law Isabele and his step-son Danny. A visitation will take place from 3-7 on Wednesday, November 28 at Allnutt Funeral Service, Loveland. Friends are welcome to attend a brief time of sharing and remembrance at the conclusion of the viewing, military honors will follow.
