Robert Jansma Obituary
Robert (Bob/Pepa) Jansma, 62, died peacefully after a 6-month battle with cancer on June 11, 2014. He leaves behind his childhood best friend/sweetheart Lynda M Nielsen; his sons Kenneth Jansma and Robert Haslund Nielsen; his greatest joys his granddaughters Kaytlyn and Jordyn Jansma, Calli and Kendall Mae Nielsen and adopted granddaughter Bostyn Wright; as well as his sisters Shirl Walters and husband Jim (deceased), Mary Wachowski and husband Bill, Lin Sandi-Stewart and husband Don; and brothers Lee, Bill and Jim Jansma. He was preceded in death by his parents Norma Clara and William Louis Jansma. Bob worked for the City of Loveland for 34 years as a Parks Irrigation Specialist. He took great pride in knowing all the parks and water systems that kept things green for all of Loveland to enjoy. For 30 years he helped with the set up of Sculpture in the Park. Bob was a volunteer for many nonprofits such as The Women's Resource Center, The Secret Santa Program, Health Care Access Coalition, United Way and Alternatives to Violence. He hauled clean up, moved furniture, helped with construction/maintenance repairs, and delivered Christmas gifts to low income families in snowstorms right before the holidays. He also served as President of Longs Peak Credit Union (now Elevations). Bob enjoyed camping, hiking, fishing, maintaining his koi pond and countless hours of searching for arrowheads. He looked forward to his annual camping trips with his brother Lee and many wonderful fond memories of camping all over Colorado and Wyoming with family and friends. Many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, great nieces/nephews and friends all who will miss him greatly. A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, June 21, 2014, 3:20pm at the Benson Park Pavilion. In lieu of flowers contributions can be made to the Pepa Jansma Educational Fund for his granddaughter's education or to Alternatives for Violence Future Safe house.
