Bob Lafferty Obituary
Bob Lee Lafferty, 83, died in the presence of his wife, children and granddaughter on June, 28, 2014 after a long struggle with Alzheimer's. Bob was born 83 years ago in Humboldt, Nebraska, to Matt Pat Lafferty and Augusta Colson Lafferty. He was second to the last of nine children. Bob graduated from high school in Humboldt in 1949 and worked at several jobs in California before settling in Colorado. In 1954 he married Peggy Kunce in Englewood, Colorado. Bob was a carpenter/millwright in construction for 50 years. Bob raised his family in the Denver area and in 1989 he retired and moved with Peggy to "the cabin" in the Big Thompson Canyon. Bob was a loving and hardworking husband, father, and joyful grandfather to his own and all children. Bob was a generous man who loved to tease and enjoyed fishing, poker, playing pool at the Chilson Senior Center with his many friends, and greeting his fishing club members, all whom he loved. Bob is survived by his wife Peggy, daughters Shawn (Jay) Williams and Sherri (Mike) Crutchfield and his son Matt (Brooke, fiancée) Lafferty, seven grandchildren and eight great grandchildren, one niece, four nephews and two great nieces. Bob was preceded in death by his parents, eight siblings, granddaughter, brother-in-law, and niece. A celebration of Bob's life will take place at a luncheon on Saturday, July 26th at 10:30 a.m. at The Loveland Chilson Center, located at 700 East 4th Street, Loveland, Colorado. In lieu of flowers, we ask any contributions in Bob's honor and memory be made to plant or purchase small trees/bushes along the river's edge near his fishing pond that was destroyed by the 2013 Colorado flood. Friends may leave condolences for the family at
