Elinor Jean Kosch Obituary
E. Jean Kosch died at Pathways Hospice at McKee Medical Center on Wednesday, August 13, 2014 after suffering a stroke. In Early July, 1932, E. Jean Klein was born on a farm near Bellwood, Nebraska to Nicholas and Alice Klein. Jean attended Maretta Grade School prior to the family moving to David City, NE. She graduated from David City High as valedictorian of the class of 1950. In David City she taught in a one room country school house. She later taught in Fremont and Lincoln and attended the University of Nebraska and later Regis College. In June of 1957 Jean became the wife of John Kosch. Gregory and Daniel joined the family prior to their moving to Columbus in 1960. Jean continued as a teacher and operated a pre-school. While living in Columbus Laura Rose joined the family. In 1973 the family moved to Loveland, CO where Jean very much enjoyed volunteering at the Visitors Center for 15 years, sculpture shows for 12 years and being on the Senior Dance committee for 12 years in Longmont. She was a great dancer. She also enjoyed the Great Book Club, antique club and Beta Sigma Phi Sorority. Survivors include her husband John; sons Gregory Kosch and Daniel Kosch (Karen); daughter Laura Rose Irwin (Todd); brothers Robert, George and Ronald Klein; and her sister Rose Klein. Preceding her in death were her parents Nicholas and Alice Klein and a sister Maxine Urbka. Services will be held at Viegut Funeral Home, 1616 N. Lincoln Ave., Loveland, CO on Saturday, August 23, 2014, 10:30 A.M. with a reception following in the Viegut Reception Center.
