Melody Wahl Obituary
Melody Marie (Bentsen) Wahl of Loveland, passed away Tuesday, Sept. 11, 2012, after a brief but courageous battle with cancer, surrounded by her loving family. She was born July 27, 1943, in Hastings, Neb., to Roy Bensten and Juanita (Byron) Bensten. She spent her childhood in Woodstock, IL, graduating with the Woodstock High School Class of 1961. Melody raised her children in Wisconsin Rapids, WI and spent the past 14 years in Loveland, CO. Melody retired from Consolidated Papers Inc in 1999, and moved to Loveland to be closer to her children and grandchildren. In Loveland she was employed as a copyright coordinator with Group Publishing Company. Melody made friends wherever she was, and was always active in social activities. Melody established lifelong friends throughout her life, maintaining contact with friends located near and far. Her warm-hearted and generous nature made her family and friends feel very cherished and loved. Melody's greatest joy was being a Mom and Grandma. She always supported her children and grandchildren in all their activities; and family holidays were very special to her. Melody was truly the best Mom and Grandma anyone could hope for. Survivors include her children, Rick (Amanda) Wahl of Kremmling, CO; Phil (Genie) Wahl of Loveland, CO and Chris (Bernie) Murphy of Kremmling, CO; grandchildren, Maria, Katie, Rachel Wahl, Jacey Murphy and Grace Wahl; brother, Russell (Lois) Bensten of Woodstock, IL; nieces and nephews; and her step-mom Mildred Bentsen of Chandler, AZ. She was preceded in death by her parents and a great-nephew, Lukas Bentsen. A Celebration of Life will be from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 23, at Mirasol Senior Community Event Center, 1153 Finch St., Loveland, CO.
