Donald Ratschkowsky Obituary
Donald Richard Ratschkowsky, 86 year-old, of Loveland, Colorado, passed away, November 18, 2012 at McKee Medical Center. He was born July 26th, 1926 in Yorktown, Saskatchewan Canada to German Baptist Minister Oscar Ratschkowsky and his wife Olga Falkenberg. Donald and his two sisters were raised in Baptist Parish houses and on small farms, and finally settled in Rochester, New York in 1941. Donald then served as a Quartermaster aboard the USS Requisite minesweeper in the United States Navy from 1944-1946 during WWII. Upon Donald's return to Rochester he began a 32-year career at Kodak. He met his loving wife of 59 years, Marilyn Reinhardt, at Kodak and was married in 1953. While in Rochester their three children Richard, Susan and Michael were born. In 1970 Kodak moved the family to Loveland, where Donald spent the rest of his life. He was Chaplain of the Elks Club, and had an affinity for traveling, outdoors and wildlife. He is survived by his wife Marilyn, his three children - Richard Ratschkowsky and wife Cathy, Susan Fickess and husband Curt, and Michael Ratschkowsky and wife Laurie; and his eleven grandchildren - Daniel Ratschkowsky, Corey Cinabro and Salina Cinabro; Andrea, Brad, Kayla and Allyson Fickess; Jennifer Lewis, Katelyn Vinzant, Kristopher and Jered Ratschkowsky and 8 great grandchildren. A memorial service will be held Saturday, November 24th at 11:00am at Loveland First United Methodist Church on 533 Grant Ave. Memorial contributions may be made to Habitat for Humanity, Children's Hospital of Denver or Pathways Hospice in care of Allnutt Funeral Service.
