Winona Harrison Obituary

Winona was born on January 5, 1953 in Lamar, Colorado to Arthur and Alma (Jesser) Hutchison.

Winona was raised in Holly, CO until her mother's death in 1967. Her father remarried and the Hutchison family moved to Castle Rock, CO where she finished High School. After High School, Winona married and was blessed with her only child, Joseph. She worked in the construction and manufacturing fields until Renal Failure and health issues forced her to retire. Winona persevered through 36 years of dialysis due to Renal Failure that was caused by untreated strep throat as a child. She never missed a dialysis treatment. This is a tribute to her iron will to live, as well as her zest for life.

Winona is survived by her sisters, Gwendolyn (Neil) Ekhoff, Barbara (Terry) Miller, step brother and sisters John Porter, Mary Dipman, Barbara Burris, her granddaughter Molly Hall-McCollum, Molly's parents John and Cheryl, nephew Jacob Miller, his daughters Jayleen and Lindsey, numerous Aunts, Uncles, cousins and an uncountable number of friends.

She was preceded in death by her beloved son, Joseph as well as her love and best friend in life Monty Bobo. Winona was also preceded in death by both parents, and stepmother Mardell.

Winona had many special medical professionals in her life. She and the family would like to thank them for all of their hard work and dedication to those in need, as well as helping her through her difficult life. She would not have made it through her 36 year battle of Dialysis without her will to live, medical family, her friends, and her loved ones. What a team!

Memorial contributions may be made to a Kidney Foundation in your area.

Per Winona's wishes, cremation has been completed and a Celebration of Life will be held in the Spring of 2013. Interment will be in the Loveland Burial Park where she will be placed with her family.
