Robert Kelley Obituary
Bob died peacefully at home on February 14, 2013, from cancer with his daughters by his side. He was a strong and giving man who always put his family first. Through his own example he taught principles of hard work, perseverance, and respect. He was an "Army Boy" and a patriot who fought for the freedoms he loved. He was a hunter, a trapper, fisherman, pilot, soldier, machinist, husband, father, and home builder. He loved to tell stories, carve figurines, go camping, and always worked hard. After flying P-51's and B-24's in WWII, he met the love of his life Irene and started a family. He and his father also established the L.W. Kelley Company where he worked alongside his dad for 20 years. In 1970 he moved from his home in Ohio to Colorado where he retired from Hewlett Packard and turned to homebuilding. He was a top salesman and builder for Rocky Mountain Log Homes. He had a simple but strong belief in God and gave credit to Him for the many miracles in his life. Bob is survived by his daughters Kathy (Dan) Mazzotta, Bobbi (Rolf) Baehr, Rhonda (Phil) Baros, and son Robert (Susan) Kelley; grandchildren Heather McCool, Michael (Rebecca) McCool, Chris Kelley, Katie Kelley, Kelley (Andy) Bibelheimer, Josh Baros, and Dani Mazzotta; as well as 7 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife Irene, of 64 years, and their daughter Patricia (Kelley) McCool. A special thanks to Pathways Hospice for their help and support. Funeral services will be held Sunday, 2:00 P.M. at Viegut Funeral Home with Military Honors.Interment at Loveland Burial Park will be Tuesday February 19th at 1:30. Donations may be made in his memory to the VFW, the Buckhorn Presbyterian Church or to Pathways Hospice. The family invites you to a reception at the Buckhorn Presbyterian Church following the service. Go to www.viegutfuneralhome.com for condolences.
