Jimmy Seider, 72, of Clyde, died Saturday in his home with family by his side. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday at the First United Methodist Church in Clyde with Rev. Ava Berry and Rev. Lou Ellerbrook officiating, under the direction of Bailey-Howard Funeral Home. Graveside service will be at 3:00 p.m. Wednesday at the St. John's Cemetery in Priddy, Texas. Visitation will be from 6:00 to 7:30 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home in Clyde.
Jimmy was born August 29, 1938, in Priddy, Mills County, Texas, to Albert A. and Olga Stegemoller Seider. He was a 1956 graduate of Priddy High School. Jimmy married Marilyn Schlee on July 6, 1957, in Priddy. The couple celebrated 50 years of marriage in 2007. They moved to Clyde from Abilene in 1961. Jimmy was a truck driver for Merchant's Fast Motor Lines for 36 years, and later worked for Roadway Motors and Coy Transport. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Clyde. He coached Clyde Pee Wee and Little League baseball for 13 years. He was an active supporter of 4-H and Future Farmers of America, worked with the Clyde Junior Livestock Show Association, and was a founding member of the Callahan County Junior Livestock Show Association, serving as a board member, officer and fundraiser. He was awarded honorary Chapter Farmer and honorary State FFA Degree of Texas.
He is survived by his wife Marilyn of Clyde; two sons, Sam and wife Susan Seider of Cisco, and Jeffery Seider of Austin; one daughter, Angela and husband David Swope of Ft. Myers, Florida; one brother, Jerry and wife Phyllis Seider of Priddy; four grandchildren, Chad and wife Vanessa Smith of El Paso, Cody and wife Jenny Carter of Ft. Worth, Justin and wife Sanja Seider of Mcchord AFB, Washington, and Shelby Seider of Cisco; three great-grandchildren, Reagan and Colton Carter of Ft. Worth and Nickolas Seider of Mcchord AFB, Washington.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother and sister-in-law, Charles A. and Glenda Seider.
The family would like to express sincere appreciation to the Sears Methodist Hospice In Home Care, for their love and support.
