Jonathan Ryan Alvarado took his mothers hand and joined her to walk beside Our Heavenly Father on September 18, 2011.
Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Tuesday at Abilene Funeral Home Chapel of Hope, 3349 N. 12th Street. Burial will follow in the Elliott-Hamil Garden of Memories Cemetery, directed by Abilene Funeral Home.
Jonathan, known to his family and friends as "Jon" was born October 16, 1983, in Lubbock, Texas to Robert and Debra Alvarado. Jon attended Wichita Falls ISD where he participated in numerous extracurricular activities, including football where he was named offense player of the week. He also participated in Baseball and soccer. During his young teenage years, Jon spent time in the Rocky Mountains with his dad where he enjoyed camping and fishing. It is during that time he developed his love for playing his guitar. Jon was an avid Dallas Cowboy fan and began attending games at the age of eleven. He was very proud of the fact that out of every game he attended, which was numerous, he only witnessed a loss once. Jon had a passion for animals and enjoyed the time spent with his pit bull, Malachi.
Jon established his business, A&A Maintenance at the age of nineteen in Wichita Falls where he was successful in drawing customers with his charisma, energy and work ethics. People loved and enjoyed being around Jon.
Jon was preceded in death by his mother, Debra Suzanne Watson of Stamford, Texas; maternal grandfather, Archie Liles; maternal grandmother, Shirley Liles of Stamford, Texas; paternal grandfather, Pete D. Alvarado Sr. of Wichita Falls.
Survivors include his father, Robert Alvarado; a sister, Bridget Alvarado; a niece, Brooklyn Alvarado of Wichita Falls; paternal grandmother, Fonsa Alvarado of Abilene; his uncles, Mike Lilies of Jackson Hole, Wyoming, Theodore Guerro and wife Linda of Wichita Falls, Pete Alvarado Jr. of Abilene, Patrick Liles and wife, Vicky of Midland and Ike Liles and wife, Brenda of Clyde; aunts, Arlene Herrera and husband, Paul of Abilene, Teri Preston and husband, David of Lyman, Wyoming. Jon leaves behind several cousins who will miss him dearly.
Pallbearers will be Patrick Liles, Ike Liles, Randy Gonzales, Charles Vinson, Paul Herrera, and Pete Alvarado Jr. Honorary pallbearer will be Theodore Martin Guerrero.
A visitation will be from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. Monday at Abilene Funeral Home.
