Rev. O W Wilson, 86, passed away Wednesday, April 19, 2017 in Abilene, Texas.

Visitation will be 6:00PM to 8:00PM, Friday, April 21, 2017 at The Hamil Family Funeral Home, 6449 Buffalo Gap Road, Abilene. Funeral services will be 2:00PM, Saturday, April 22, 2017 at First Church of the Nazarene with Rev. Winston Wilson officiating. Burial will follow in Buffalo Gap Cemetery.

The son of Margie (Hunt) and Oscar William Wilson, O W Wilson was born on April 22, 1930, in Grandfield, Oklahoma, raised in Oklahoma, and completed high school in Oklahoma City and college at S.N.U. (Bethany Nazarene College). He earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree with a major in religion and a minor in accounting. He and his first wife Kittie (Stockton) Wilson, had two children, Karmen Jayne and Winston. O W and his wife worked as a pastor and wife ministerial team in the churches which they served.

His career in the ministry included 32 years from April 1955 until April 1987. His first church to pastor was Iowa Falls Church of the Nazarene (Iowa District - 2 years); (Southwest Oklahoma District - 12 years) Churches in Oklahoma included Hobart, Sayre and Lawton Heights Churches of the Nazarene, and First Church of the Nazarene in Duncan; Irvington Church of the Nazarene (Houston District - 3 years); (Southwest Indiana District - 6 years) Churches in Indiana included Greencastle First Church of the Nazarene and Vincennes First Church of the Nazarene; and Florence First Church of the Nazarene in the Alabama District until the end of his career.

In the different districts, he served on various boards and other appointments including Advisory Boards, Credentials Boards, Finance Committees, Missionary Councils, and as District Treasurer and District Secretary.

O W enjoyed restoring old convertibles and pendulum clocks.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Kittie Stockton Wilson on February 19, 2010; his parents, and three sisters, Velma Potts, Helen Shaffer and June Emmert.

O W married Bessie Frances Felton on July 16, 2011 in Abilene , Texas.

Survivors include his wife, Bessie Wilson of Abilene; son, Orvel Winston Wilson and wife Martha of Durant, OK; daughter, Karmen Trammell and husband Paul of Destrehan, Louisiana; two stepchildren, James Burks and wife Rachael of Abilene, and Jan Romine and husband Mark of Coleman; and one brother Don Wilson and wife Linda of Lawton, OK. He is also survived by four grandchildren, Oliver Wilson, Bethany Hanna (Daniel), Baileigh Fisher (Dakota) and Kara Hapgood; three step-grandchildren, Miles Romine (Christabell), Brittany Burks and Jared Romine; and four great-grandchildren, Hope Hanna, Kiersten Hanna, Quinn Fisher and Kasper Austin.
