Marciamary "Marcia" Grace (Hubler) Chinn, 60, West Lebanon, passed away at the I.U. Health Hospital, Lafayette, on Saturday, January 5, 2013, at 5:34 p.m.
Marcia was born in Anderson, on July 31, 1952. She was the daughter of Frank and Betty (Wagner) Hubler of Anderson. She was raised in Anderson, graduating from Madison Heights High School in 1970. She received her Bachelor Degree in Special Education from Ball State University and her Masters Degree from Purdue University. She has resided in West Lebanon since 1986.
On October 27, 1986, Marcia married James O. Chinn in Lafayette. He survives.
Marcia was a special education teacher for the Benton Community School Corp. for 37 years. She taught at the Oxford and Boswell Schools and was named "Teacher of the Year" for the 1997-98 year. She retired from teaching in May of 2012.
Marcia was attending the St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Attica. She was a member of the Delta Kappa Gamma Sorority. Marcia enjoyed reading Stephen King novels and organizing family and friends gathering. She enjoyed listening to music and she especially enjoyed shopping trips with her friends.
Marcia leaves behind her husband, James of 26 years; her son, O.J. (Tori) Chinn, West Lebanon; two daughters, Lindsay (Sebastian) Skowronski, Indianapolis and Graceanne Chinn, West Lebanon; six siblings, Janet (Mark) Brosche, Los Angeles, Calif.; Dan (Camla) Hubler, Oregon; Charlie (Susie) Hubler, Peru; Tom (Betsy) Hubler, Naperville, Ill.; Marty Hubler, Tampa, Fla. and Jacquie (Todd) Etchison, Lapel; three grandchildren, Jacob Chinn, Lafayette; Kayne Acton, West Lebanon and Vivian Skowronski, Indianapolis; several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a son, Samuel Ross Chinn.
A funeral mass was held at the St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, Attica, on January 9 with Rev. David Rasner officiating. Burial followed in the Riverside Cemetery, Attica.
