Walter F. Froh Jr. 86, of Wingate, died in his residence May 16, 2013. He was born November 8, 1926 in New Haven, Mich., son of the late Walter F. and Edna Clark Froh. He attended school, was raised and worked in New Haven. Following retirement he lived in Lawrenceville, Ill. and moved to Wingate in 2007.

Walter was a veteran of the U.S. Navy and served in WWII. He had worked as a truck driver for Walter F. Froh Trucking Company and also was a horse trainer for his family horse farm. He was a member of the Lawrenceville American Legion and VFW posts. He was an avid fisherman.
Surviving are: a daughter, Darlene (Melvin) Jones of Lawrenceville, Ill. A sister, Marie Melnyk of North Carolina. Three grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren also survive. He was preceded in death by his parents and five brothers.
A private family memorial service will be held. Family and Friends Funeral Home of Wingate is assisting the family.
