Elizabeth Ann Oldroyd Bossard, 71, of Rexburg, Idaho, passed away on June 24, 2014. She was born April 25, 1943, in Richfield, Utah, to Glenys Carling Oldroyd and Milan Todd Oldroyd. She graduated from Richfield High School and received a Bachelor Degree from Brigham Young University. Elizabeth married Alan Sterling Bossard June 29, 1962, in the Manti LDS Temple. They had five children, Stephanie, Wendy, Todd, Angela and Melissa. She has 20 grandchildren.
Elizabeth was active as a youth, participating in everything from Girl Scouts to barrel racing. At the age of 18, she won the Richfield Goddess of Liberty crown and was selected to represent her community in the Miss Utah pageant.
Elizabeth was an accomplished singer. She debuted at the age of 5 years old when she was featured singing "Everywhere You Go" on the radio. She loved the spotlight of the stage and filled the air with her melodious tunes. She sang in theaters, churches, classrooms, airports, hospitals, and grocery stores.
Elizabeth was a builder of people and teacher of many. She won awards as a Tupperware dealer with her humor and infectious smile. She was beloved as she taught everyone from nursery children to widows - and all the sisters in her Relief Society. She loved and supported her husband, children and grandchildren in their educational and professional goals.
College students were her specialty. She transformed the less confident into the dynamic. She built their self esteem as she developed their vocal proficiency. Her office was a haven for students to come for comfort as well as clarity. She taught belting and believing, speaking and "Spocking," the gospel and gratitude. She always taught the "Power of One".
Elizabeth was incredibly generous with her time, money, talents and music. No one left her home, office or classroom empty-handed whether it was with music, chocolate, a bear, a pebble, a book, a tape or CD, a quote, a story or a hug. She always sent a part of her heart.
Surviving are her four daughters and one son, Stephanie (Doug) Bradshaw, of Rexburg, Idaho; Wendy (Breck) Rushton, of Logan, Utah; Todd (Kimberly) Bossard, of Ashton, Idaho; Angela (Russell) Rydalch, of Rexburg and Melissa (Henry) Parra, of West Jordan, Utah; her sister, Julie (Dave Moky) Christensen, of Richfield, Utah and 11 grandsons, nine granddaughters and four nieces.
