Alvin Lloyd Winegar, 56, passed away June 6, 2014, in Rock Springs, Wyo., following an illness with cancer.

Alvin was born Nov. 7, 1957, in Chandler, Ariz., the son of Vern and Dorothy McMinn Winegar. His dad was in the military and moved around a lot while he was growing up. He graduated from South Fremont High School.
He joined the U.S. Army in June of l976. He served for over eight years and was honorably discharged in 1986.
Alvin married Patsy McRae on Oct. 7, 1977, in Rexburg, Idaho. They traveled around while Alvin served in the military. They settled in Salem, Idaho, but for the past five years, they have lived in Rock Springs, Wyo., where Alvin worked in the oil fields.
Alvin enjoyed hunting, fishing and rock collecting.
He is survived by his wife, Patsy, of Rock Springs; children, Laura Winegar, of Rock Springs, Wyo., Alvin (Beth) Winegar, of Egin, Idaho; David (Ashley) Winegar and Jim (LeiLani) Winegar, both of Rock Springs, Wyo.; 10 grandchildren and his mother, Dorothy Winegar, of Egin; siblings, Steve Winegar, Sue Winegar and Mary Birch, all of Egin; and Donald Winegar, of Parker, Idaho.
He was preceded in death by his father last year and a brother, Vern Winegar Jr.
Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday, June 11, 2014 at 11 a.m. in the Egin Bench LDS Ward Chapel with Bishop LaVar Hunter officiating. Friends may call at the Bidwell Funeral Home in St. Anthony on Tuesday from 7 to 8 p.m. and at the church Wednesday one hour prior to the services. Burial will be in the Parker Cemetery, where military rites will be performed by the St. Anthony VFW and American Legion. Condolences may be sent to www.bidwellfuneralhome.com.
