Georgette Sundberg Obituary

Georgette "Jo" A. Sundberg died peacefully at Hospice of the Valley in Scottsdale, Ariz., on Nov. 29, 2010. Born on Feb. 22, 1917, to Elmer H. Brunner and Lula M. Smith in Pocatello, she grew up and attended school in Pocatello until moving to Salt Lake City and graduating from Westminster High School.
After moving to Boise, she attended Boise Junior College, Idaho State College and finally, University of Idaho, where she was a member of the Alpha Chi Omega sorority and graduated with a bachelor's degree in 1938.
Jo married Keith Covington Sundberg on Feb. 3, 1940, in Rigby. Keith owned and operated Sundberg and Associates architectural firm in Idaho Falls. Jo and Keith retired to Arizona in 1981, where they indulged in their favorite pastimes of travel and golf. Jo also volunteered at the Scottsdale North Hospital Gift shop for more than 25 years.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Keith, granddaughter Jennifer and her sister, Ursula Mettger.
She is survived by three children, Steven J. Sundberg (Judy) of Anchorage, Alaska, Julie K. Sundberg (Howard Hill) of Idaho Falls and Michael B. Sundberg of Phoenix, Ariz.; eight grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren. 
Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m., Dec. 7, 2010, at Rose Hill Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Wood Funeral Home, 273 N. Ridge Ave., Idaho Falls. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.woodfuneralhome.com . In lieu of flowers, a donation may be made to Hospice of the Valley, 9494 E. Becker Lane, Scottsdale, AZ 85260-6720.
