Gideon "Chase" Voss, 29, passed away Nov. 3, 2013, at the Madison Hospital from natural causes.
Chase was born June 14, 1984, in Rexburg, Idaho, the son of Larry Voss and Barbara Mains.
He grew up in the Salem area. He attended grade school, middle school and high school at Sugar-Salem. He played football, wrestling and won district tournaments in wrestling.
In his childhood, he was a member of the LDS church. The last six months, he has attended the Lighthouse Bible Baptist Church in Sugar City with his wife and children.
Chase enjoyed the outdoors, camping, fishing, hunting, dirt biking, etc.
At the time of his death, he was employed by Matt Sommer Construction.
On June 1, 2007, he married Jessica Lee Stafford in Idaho Falls. They have lived in Idaho Falls, Rexburg, and for the past four years in St. Anthony.
He is survived by his wife, Jessica, and children, Gideon Dominic Voss, Klayton Earl Voss and Cayleigh Jean Rose Voss; parents, Larry Voss and Barbara (Aaron) Mains; parents-in-law, Preston (Bertha) Stafford; siblings, Josh (Katy) Voss, Jomanda (Mark) Tippetts, Eli Mains, Samuel (Lexi) Mains, Damian (Barbara) Mains, Mandi Lucero (Nick), Courtney (Brian) Phillipp and Caleb Stafford; grandmother, Linda Voss; great-grandparents, Max and Arile Ottesen; nieces and nephews, Brenden Voss, AshKia Voss, Jayden Voss, Kruz Tippetts, Mak Tippetts, Trevyn Phillipp and Breklyn Phillipp.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Bill and Shirley Souza, Grandpa Ralph Voss, and Grandpa Grant Roberts.
Funeral services will be held Friday Nov. 8, at 11 a.m. in the Salem LDS Church, 3462 N. Salem Road, Rexburg, with Bishop J.T. Hill conducting and Pastor Britt Landers of the Lighthouse Bible Baptist Church assisting. Friends and family may meet at the Bidwell Funeral Home in St. Anthony Thursday from 7 to 8:30 p.m. and at the Salem LDS Church Friday one hour prior to the time of services. Burial will be in the Teton-Newdale Cemetery. Condolences may be sent to
