Roger S. Ard died peacefully at his home in Meridian, Idaho June 21, 2014. He was born Dec. 4, 1941 to Bill and Lelia Ard in Driggs, Idaho. Roger was the firstborn of Bill and Lelia Ard, later to be big brother to Carrie Margaret Ard. He was welcomed to the combined family which included Ellis, Theola, Jean, Mary, Maxine, Ora Lee and Barney.
The Guest Book is expired.
He is survived by his wife of 24 years, Judie Anne Milano; his three children from his first marriage to Carol Anderson, Gary, Gina and Ginger; and Judie's children, Tammy, Tracie, Jeffery, Debbie, Bryant and Chris, who loved him dearly. He had 28 grandchildren and 30 great-grandchildren.
Roger was well known in the Rexburg area where he worked in many different trades. He started as a mechanic, truck driver and was especially known for expertise in his snowmobile repair shop and racing adventures. He worked many years on road construction throughout the state and was well known as an expert on loaders and especially the road grader. It is very possible he has had a hand in most of the roads we have all traveled on in the state. Roger was remarried in 1989, where he lived in Hagerman with his new wife, Judie. In Hagerman, he became the local expert on lawn mowers and cars and spent many hours at the local senior center assisting others with their complicated health care applications. Roger retired from road construction in 1994 and began his career in computer technology and repair. In 2008, he moved to Boise to be closer to family and better health care. His fascination with the new technology kept him busy in his retirement. He used his new-found knowledge to compile a very detailed history and genealogy for his family. He was always excited to learn new things and teach what he had learned to anyone. He loved his family, he loved to be visited by anyone who would stop by, always willing to share stories of the good old days. His roots were always in Clementsville and he was surrounded by pictures of the Tetons, his family and his heritage.
