Mary Loraina Settles, 83, passed away on May 11, at the home of her daughter, Brenda Davis, in St. Anthony.
The Guest Book is expired.
Mary was born Nov. 15, 1929, in Poplar Bluff, Mo., to Frank McKinley Digges and Augusta March Miller.
Mary graduated from Mackay High School and later moved to Clayton where her mother and step-father lived.
Mary met her future husband, Richard "Dick" Settles in Clayton. They were married in June 1950 and had three children.
They lived in Mackay for a couple of years and then moved back to Clayton where they raised their family. They divorced in 1975.
Mary moved to St. Anthony to be closer to her daughter, Brenda. Brenda was employed as a CNA for Ashton Nursing Home at the time. Mary lived in senior citizen housing for several years and made many good friends.
Mary loved the outdoors and especially enjoyed fishing, camping and having family picnics with the Wall family. She loved the Easter picnic they had every year. She also enjoyed playing pool and bowling. In her younger days she was a tough competitor and was rarely beaten.
She is survived by her children, Mac C. Settles, of Baker City, Ore., Linda (Gene) G. Coates, of Yerington, Nev., and Brenda (Ralph) Davis, of St. Anthony; seven grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Lucille (Earl) Wall of Mackay.
As per her wishes, there will be no services. Cremation arrangements were made by Flamm Mortuary in St. Anthony. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.flammfh.com.
