Craig Capps Obituary

Craig Nevin Capps

November 28, 1966

March 22, 2016

Craig is now walking without pain with his beloved labrador retriever, Jenny, and those he loved who have gone before him. Craig was born in Reno, attended Reno schools and graduated from McQueen High School. He worked in the Biochemistry Department at the University of Nevada while he attended classes and later was employed by UPS. During his summer vacations while in high school he was fortunate to be able to work on a friends' ranch in northeastern Nevada and learned self reliance and how to put in a "hard day's work". After he acquired his ideal little home on wheels in Texas, he set out on his final adventure by taking his time seeing the sights and visiting the southwest until he passed away in Roswell, New Mexico.

He loved spending time hunting, fishing, trap shooting, archery, camping, baseball and even rugby until his neuropathy and health prevented him from participating in these activities. He especially enjoyed photography and found satisfaction using his artistic inclinations and "thinking outside the box" while participating in Burning Man constructions and planning as well as the events themselves.

Craig's friends were many and varied, and they appreciated his dry sense of humor, his mastery of trivia and his loyalty, however, he also relished his privacy and was content being his own best companion.

He is survived by his parents Donald and Jane Capps, and his sister, Chrysta Burr (John). Craig was particularly proud of his nephews, Corey, Kyle (Adriana), and Casey Porter and relished the time he spent with them. He would have loved to watch his grandnephew, Elijah, grow up.

A celebration of life is being planned. In lieu of flowers please contribute to a charity of your choice in his name.
