Charles Bart Welch

Charles Bart Welch, 74, passed away at Renown Regional Medical Center with his loving family by his side. Charles was born to Verna and Charley Welch in Little River, Kansas in 1938. The family moved to Battle Mountain, Nevada when Charles was a small child. He graduated from Battle Mountain High School and went to work for the 25 Ranch as a buckaroo. He rode colts and trained bridle horses.
Charley, as he was known by his friends, met his future wife, Coleen, at a rodeo. They were married 2 months later and had a wonderful 52 years happily married. She considers herself "the luckiest girl in the world." He was her rock and her soulmate. Charley and Coleen had one son, Chas, who was the light of his life. Chas lives in Reno and works for the Sparks Fire Department as a Firefighter. Charley has one granddaughter; Molly, who brightened his days. Charley retired as a land agent for Nevada Lands in 2000. He was preceded in death by his parents, and his brother. Charley is survived by his wife; Coleen, son; Chas and granddaughter; Molly. He is also survived by 2 sisters; Bertha Gardner and Rayetta Greenwell, and nieces and nephews. At Charley's request, a private graveside service is scheduled this week at Battle Mountain Cemetery.
