Clark Daniel Peterson passed away on Sunday, March 17, 2013 at the Veterans Community Living Center at the Veterans Administration Hospital in Reno, Nevada. Clark was born on January 23, 1944 to Svend Daniel (Charlie) Petersen and Lina Petersen in San Francisco, California. He moved with his family to Yerington, Nevada when he was approximately 7 years old and completed school in Yerington. He graduated from Yerington High School with the class of 1962. He served in the United States Air Force.

He was a member of Our Savior Lutheran Church in Sparks, Nevada for over 40 years. He was an avid Chess player and traveled to several states to compete in tournaments. He drove a taxi for Whittlesea Taxi for over 30 years and always enjoyed talking to his customers.

He was always eager to learn and spent lots of time studying and reading. Math was his favorite and he amazed his professor by finishing equations before the professor could finish writing them on the black board. He loved Beethoven and classical music from all composers.

At the time of his death he was one credit away from receiving his BA degree in computer science at Morrison University. Clark received outstanding hospice care from the nurses, CNAs, and expecially Dr. Brooks during his time at the VA.

He was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by a brother, Steven (Ann) of Fernley, NV, two nephews Matthew (Teri) of Sparks, NV, Travis of Fernley, NV and his cousins, Earl and Ronald from California and Charles from Washingon and Sandi (Zemlicka) from Oregon.

A memorial service will be Saturday, March 23, 2013 at Our Savior Lutheran Church, 1900 1st Street, Sparks at 2:00 pm.
