Don Price Sr.(1936 - 2013)

Don W. Price Sr.

Don W. Price Sr., 77, lifelong Sparks resident, entered into heaven June 17, 2013. He was born February 1, 1936 and was a Reno High School graduate. Don served in the United States Army, where he was lauded as an excellent marksman. Later, he carried over those skills and enjoyed big game hunting. Don was a passionate fisherman, and could often be found on a lake in his boat with friends Gary, Gordon, Ralph and son, Donnie. Don enjoyed fishing for shad so much that his license plate reflected it: SHADDAD. He taught his two sons the love of fishing, and his niece caught her first fish under his tutelage. He enjoyed cooking, including a favorite meal: fresh-caught fish, twice-baked potato and corn on the cob. Don was a professional house painter and worked many years at the William Price Paint Co. Don enjoyed playing cards and bowling and was a S.F. Giants baseball fan. He led an active life, and was blessed to have not spent a day in the hospital. The past 3 years, he and his sister enjoyed daily "picnic" lunches together at her home. He enjoyed coffee and going on long walks with his dog.

Don was married more than 25 years to Cheryl, of Tulare, CA. He is survived by sister, Jeri Lambert, children Desiree, Don Jr., Darin, two nieces, one nephew and several grandchildren. A private memorial was held. Don leaves a void in the hearts of those of us left behind...but we know he is fishing on a golden lake--and his net is full of shad.
