Our dearest Eleanor Kercher passed away in peace with much of her family at her side in her home in Reno, NV on Feb 27, 2013. All who knew her will never forget her genuine kindness and positive approach to life. She was born Eleanor McKinlay in 1935 in Greenock, Scotland, and came to the United States at the age of 21 as a nanny, originally locating in the North Chicago area. She relocated to California in the 1960's, and then to Reno in 1999. Ellie was an avid bingo player, and loved to play gin with her lady friends at the Hidden Valley Country Club. Bowling and golf were also her pleasures before she became unable to participate a few years ago. She is survived by her husband of the last 28 years, Gene Kercher; her 3 children from her first marriage (to the late Ronald Magin), daughter Roxanne Hinojos of Los Banos, CA, sons Robin Magin and Ronald Magin of Stockton, CA; along with 13 grandchildren; and 10 great grandchildren. She is also survived by brothers Arthur, John, and Gerald McKinlay of Scotland, and numerous nieces and nephews who still live in Scotland and Australia.

A memorial service will be held for her on March 8, 2013 at 1:00 pm at Final Wishes Funeral Home in the Mountain View Cemetery in Reno, NV.
