Harvey L. Myers
Harvey Lee Myers, 87 of Reno, Nevada, passed away on 12-13-2012.
Harvey was born in Menard, Texas on 4-09-1925. In 1958 he moved to Reno where he met his wife Geraldine Wilcox of 28 years. She preceded him in death in 1986. Also preceded in death were his brothers, Jimmie and Floyd.
Harvey was a cobbler from the age of 14. He was actively involved in the ministry work for the Jehovah Witnesses as a Minister.
Harvey Myers is lovingly remembered and survived by his three daughters, Johnnie Nobles, Susan Varnum and Mary Ann Myers, grandchildren; Denise "Sam" Savage, Harvey Blue Nobles; Danielle, Joel, Micah, Tamar, Erin Khan, Martin, Carlo, Ronnie Varnum; 23 great grandchildren and 8 great-great grandchildren.
He touched the lives of many with his kindness, humor and wisdom. He was quoted in an article saying, "We realize we are responsible, according to Scripture, to provide for ourselves. So the ministry work is something to enjoy. It's like having a Bible in one hand and a shoe in another."
The family wishes to extend their gratitude to The Jehovah Witnesses friends for their support. The memorial service will be held at The Kingdom Hall, 400 Holcomb Ranch Lane, Reno, on January 19, 2013 at @ 11:00.
