Kay Iwata, 88, of Sparks, Nevada, passed away peacefully at home on January 12, 2014. Kay was born on March 21, 1925 in Puyallup, Washington. He is survived by his wife, Marty, and daughters Patricia Inghram (husband Russell) and Nikki Mulei-Reeder (husband Clint), nine grandchildren, and two great grandsons.

Kay proudly served his country in World War II in the MIS unit, and was stationed in Japan during the occupation as a military court interpreter. He had a varied and diverse career. He enjoyed success at SRI in Palo Alto, CA, taught floral design, worked at Green Leaf Wholesale Company, and retired from Western Industrial Parts. Kay loved to fish, to design flower arrangements and spend time with family.

Kay was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He will be missed dearly by family and friends. A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held on Sunday, February 9, 2014 at John Ascuaga Nugget, 12:00 p.m.
