Ruth Clifford

Ruth Clifford passed Thursday, May 24, 2012 with her family by her side after a long battle with Alzheimer's disease. Ruth was born in Woodlake, California on February 15, 1931 to Francisco and Francesca Patino.

Ruth graduated from Woodlake Union High School in 1949. She lived in various places in California and settled in Reno in 1964. She loved Reno and enjoyed the mountains and the winters here and had many friends. Ruth was a member of the Junior League of Reno and volunteered and then worked for Washoe Medical Center and retired from there after 14 years as a receptionist; then became a CNA until retiring completely. She volunteered for the children's van ministry at her church and later attended Grace Community Church until passing. She was a people person and loved her family very much.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Francisco and Francesca, her brothers and sisters Tony Patino, Philip Patino, Eloise Granados, Vera Hodgson and Tonia Sanchez. She is survived by her sisters and brother Margaret Young, Frances Canales, and Frank Patino. She is also survived by her daughter Debbie Mardon (Bill) and son Gary Clifford (Dawn); grandchildren Elizabeth Martin (Braden), Nikki, Garrett, Michael, and Max Clifford; two great-grandchildren Jessie and Mateo Martin and numerous nephews and nieces.

She had touched many lives and will be greatly missed by her family and friends. A celebration of life for Ruth will be held at Mountain View Mortuary on Friday, June 1 at 2:00 pm with a reception to follow at the home of her daughter. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the .
