Carl E. Hass

Carl E. Hass passed away peacefully (from complications due to a staph infection) on February 19th, 2012. Born June 19th, 1941 in Downey, CA, he was an Eagle Scout who loved his dogs. After serving in the Air Force for four years, he earned his BS in Accounting from CSULA and then his MBA. from U.S.C. His successful business career included work as an accountant, president of Winchell's Donuts, and 17 years as CEO of Mallard Creek Industries, Inc. in Rocklin, CA. We will remember him as an incessant joker, political rabble-rouser, industrious woodworker, and happy golfer, but most importantly, as a loving husband, devoted father, and beloved grandfather with a quiet but unshakeable faith in God. He is survived by Gretchen, his wife of 46 years, son David, daughter Christy, six grandchildren, Rose Hass, Benjamin, Christian, Dante, Eloise and Fiona Hinrichs and three sisters: Barbara Moody, Chris Moss, and Vickie Winchester and many nieces and nephews.
