Charles F. Barr, Sr.
Charles F. Barr, Sr., 83, of Fernley, Nevada, passed away on Friday, January 18, 2013, at his residence. A native of Chicago, Illinois, Mr. Barr had been a long-time resident of Sparks. He was retired from both the United States Postal Service and as a security guard at the Thrifty Warehouse in Sparks. A veteran of the U.S. Army, he served his country following the conclusion of W.W.II.
Charles is survived by his loving wife, Charlotte; children, Charles F. Barr, Jr., Joanne Bennett, Helen Vanheusen and Rosanne Mosley; stepchildren, Robert Martin, Dennis Martin, Larry Martin and Gary Martin; brother, Harry Barr; niece, Nancy Barr; 18 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren and 4 great-great-grandchildren.
Per his wishes, there will be no formal services for Mr. Barr. Arrangements are entrusted to the Walton Funeral Home, Reno.
