Charles Gordon Brown





Born in Reno, NV on January 9th 1927 passed away early in the morning on November 8th 2013. Charles served 2 tours in the U.S. Navy. He worked many years at the renowned Liberty Bell Saloon and retired from the U.S. Postal Service.

Charles is survived by his beloved wife of 41 years, Wanda Brown; his sister, Janice Brown of Reno; 4 children: Christine Brown of Tennessee, Cindy Brown of Belen, New Mexico, Jim Brown of Sparks, and Theresa Walker of Sparks, and step-daughter Pat Hartman of Roseville, CA; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

Charles was an active member of the Amateur Archaeology Club (am-arc's), the highlight of which was he and his friend Joe Ransom discovering an ancient cave containing some very rare native Indian baskets and other artifacts which are on display at the Carson City State Museum. He was also a member of the local Philatelic Club. Charles was much loved and will be greatly missed.
