Christopher John Erdelt
October 6,1968
October 16, 2012
Born in Long Beach CA and raised in Reno/Sparks, Chris left this world to fly with the angels. Chris attended Sparks High School where he was on the long distance track team. He was a master tile setter, making his living with his unique artistic talents - everyone who saw his work was astounded at the beauty. He loved riding his mountain bike and logged many miles with his 4 legged companion, Solo, he enjoyed playing Frisbee Golf but mostly he especially loved spending time with his son. Chris will be greatly missed by his son, Chance Erdelt, parents, John & Joy Erdelt, sisters, Suzanne Erdelt and Dianna LaRue Gilmartin, numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and many friends. Please join us for a Celebration of Life on Saturday, November 24th at 2 pm at the Vineyard Church at 8975 Double Diamond Parkway, Bldg A, Suite 2. In lieu of flowers, a contribution for a memorial tree to be planted in the Spring would be gratefully appreciated, and please perform random acts of kindness in his memory.
To plant trees in memory, please visit the Sympathy Store.
Hard to believe it's been 10 years since Chris left us to ride in the clouds!
A kind and gentle soul, he's now got his Dad to spend time with.
I can see them talking and laughing..A LOT!!..about everything under the sun.
You are missed deeply! But we know the things that caused you pain down here didn't go with you!
Love you Chris! Say Hi to your Dad for me!!

Well, so far, the passing of time has shown "no mercy" as it pertains to my sadness and our great loss. Reading the other entries-I can see that I am not alone. This Guest Book has been a wonderful tool-and I'm sad to see that it will soon close--I guess it just makes me feel a little closer & still connected somehow. Thank you to the Erdelt family for sharing this with us.

Chris, you have left us way too soon! Your ready laugh and warm smile could always light up a room. I hope as you soar with the angels you find peace and no more suffering.
You will always be in our hearts!

CJ was a masterful artist with tile being his medium. He was one of the best tile setters I have ever had the privilege to work with. My heart and prayers go out to his family.

I am so sorry to hear this news. Chris was a dear friend-and had shared lately some of the things going on in his life. For past year or two he had been teaching me the art of mosaic-and brought me some of his left over tiles, glass,& mortars. Last time we spoke he said he had a whole other load of tile and glass for my ever growing inventory of supplies. He'd even include the cabinet, cutting board or vase that I was to "enhance". He loved the Goodwill last stop outlet and would come and pick me up to go rummaging for treasures with him. He'd stop by 1-2 times a week for a "project" inspection that I was to have completed by then. My work looked like a 1st grader did it-but he never laughed-he'd say I remember my first pieces--with practice you'll finally master it too--just keep trying! I had encouraged him to "teach" a class at TMCC at night. He just had that ability to teach & guide you without making you feel like a klutz. I will desperately miss him--
