Dorothy was born and raised on a Sacramento Delta ranch by her parents Trevor and Hazel Goethe, with her two sisters. She is preceded in death by husbands Chet Decker, Jack Raberto, and John Ray; and daughter Shirley Decker, at age two. Dorothy is survived by her husband of 13 years, Don; daughter Patti Vogel Beer (Peter); adopted son Jack Raberto (Cathy); grandchildren Steve (Dee), Stuart, Stan (Stephanie), Shawn Vogel, Severino and Guenivere Raberto; nephews Norman and Danny; and niece Evelyn.
Dorothy is a direct descendant of J. Wolfgang von Goethe, the famous German poet and playwright (1749-1832) who wrote "Manifest (May Song)" in 1771. She was a talented and artistic seamstress and millinar. She was also an accomplished horsewoman, saxophone player, dancer, and a member of the Reno Super Seniors and their Marching and Indian Club Teams.
Dorothy was an awesome cook for family and entertaining friends, and created the most beautiful wedding cakes. She was also creative and enjoyed crafts and carpentry.
