Esther passed away on Sunday, February 3, 2013. She was preceded in death by her husband, John Brunswig.

Esther was born in San Francisco, CA on August 2, 1932. She grew up in San Francisco as a very curious girl that liked to tinker around, play sports and musical instruments. Following high school graduation, Esther attended UC Berkeley with hopes of becoming a concert pianist. After a year of college she began a 45 year career in retail at a major department store. Her experiences ranged from buying children's clothes to public relations to store manager. Esther was a devoted 49'er fan. She began attending games with her brother at Kezar Stadium and followed the Niners when they moved to Candlestick Park. In 1997, Esther and John moved to Sparks. They loved to travel together, seeing new places and experiencing various cultures. Esther was a valued member of St. Anthony Greek Orthodox Church. She served as President of the parish council, Greek festival and Daughters of Penelope. She sang in the church choir and most recently served as President of the St. Anthony's Philoptochos Society. Esther was also an avid bridge player. She enjoyed the game and all the wonderful friends she met while doing so. Esther was a devoted worker with a wonderful spirit. Her zest for life was shown by the smile she always wore on her face.

Esther is survived by her daughters; Jennifer and Mary, son John, sons-in-law; Joe and Richard, grandchildren; Isabella and Emily, Matthew and Christina, brother Jim and wife Judy, nephews, nieces, and great-nieces.

Trisagion services are Thursday, February 7 at 7 pm at Obrien-Rogers & Crosby Funeral Home, 600 W. 2nd St., Reno. Funeral Services are Friday, February 8 at 11 am at St. Anthony's Church, 4795 Lakeside Dr., Reno. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the St. Anthony's Philoptochos Society.
