Iris DePaoli Anxo

December 31, 1930

October 15, 2013

Iris DePaoli Anxo passed away the morning of October 15, 2013 at home surrounded by her family, following a recent illness.

Iris was born in Eureka, NV on December 31, 1930 to Tony and Judith DePaoli. Iris relished her childhood, growing up in a great place at a great time. It was here that she grew to know and love Joe Anxo. In 1959 Joe and Iris were married in Reno, NV, where they have made their home to this day. Joe and Iris completed their family with two children, John and Judi.

Iris was a devoted wife and mother. These roles were her mission and purpose. She and Joe were a constant presence at any and all sporting events of their children, then grandchildren, and there were many.

Iris was a devout Catholic, forging a close bond with the Carmelite nuns at a young age and maintaining that relationship throughout her life. She and Joe were members of Our Lady of the Snows Catholic Church. Iris's unwavering faith guided her through her life and safely into her rest.

Iris was preceded in death by her parents, Tony and Judith DePaoli, and her brothers Reginald and Gerald DePaoli. Iris is survived by her husband, Joe, son John (Yvonne), daughter Judi Wieland (David), grandchildren Dominic, Grace and Sofia Anxo, and Joe, Taylor, and Matthew Wieland.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Mountain View Mortuary.

Iris's life will be celebrated with a Mass of Christian Burial at Our Lady of the Snows on Monday, October 21, 2013. A rosary will be recited at 9:30 a.m. followed by a funeral Mass. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Bishop Manogue Catholic High School, Anxo Family Scholarship or The Carmel of Reno, 1950 LaFond Dr. Reno, NV 89509.
