Joseph Peri Obituary
PERI
Joseph Fred Peri, beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, cousin and friend, left his earthly life on October 25, 2009. Joe was born on October 10, 1923, and worked his entire life on the family farm/ranch at Lockwood, NV, where he, along with his identical twin brother Jim, raised produce, livestock, and had various business ventures during their 86 years of life. His parents, Constantino and Narcisa Mosconi Peri, immigrated to the U.S. from Montecatini, near Lucca, Italy, where they settled and started the farm/ranch operation at Lockwood, which still survives today. The Peri family farming legacy lives on with the next generation in Yerington, NV. He loved and took great pride in his work and his family.
Joe met and married the love of his life, Patricia (Daugherty) Peri, in 1956. They had two children, David (Pam) Peri of Yerington, NV, and Denise Peri (Jim Boyer) of Sparks, NV. He was preceded in death by his parents; his brothers, James Lockwood Peri, Dominic Peri, and Henry Peri; his sisters, Julia Petrini, Mary Petroni, and Rena Peri. He is survived by his wife, Pat; son, David; daughter, Denise; sisters, Sue Nannini of Reno, NV, and Nevada Ottarda of Los Angeles, CA; grandchildren, Joseph Oberg, Jessica (Tim) Peri Cummings, D.J. Peri, Angela Scott, and Ami Thomas; four great-grandchildren, numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.
The family is indebted to and would like to thank the staff at the Arbors and VistaCare Hospice in Sparks, NV, for all of the compassionate and loving care provided to Joe and the family during his final days. A memorial service and celebration of Joe's life is planned for Monday, November 9, 2009 at noon, at the Immaculate Conception Church in Sparks, NV, with a reception immediately following at the church. In lieu of flowers, the family wishes that any donations be made to the Hospice Foundation of Northern Nevada, P.O. Box 51138, Sparks, NV 89435. My thoughts and prayers are with all of you. Even though I never met Mr. Peri, I know he instilled in his children to work hard, be honorable in your work and personal life. I am sure he loved and was proud of you all and all of you returned this love by taking such detailed care of him during his terribly difficult illness. God bless you with peace of heart and mind.
