June 13, 2014

Cherished mother of four, Sandra Lee Butler passed away as a result of cancer on Friday June 13, 2014 surrounded by her family.

Born in Plymouth, England on Friday December 13, 1945 to Evelyn (Pat) Olson and George Boose, she sailed as an infant with her mother Pat on the Queen Mary where she was christened on her way to America. Her father served in the U.S. military and her mother was a member of the Royal Navy in World War ll prior to becoming a United States Citizen.

Sandy worked as a grocery checker for Warehouse Market in Fernley where she met her husband of 30 years, Danny Farris. Sandy worked in the automobile industry for 25 years, the last thirteen years were spent managing the business office at Jones West Ford where she retired as a widow shortly after Danny passed on October 4, 2011. Sandy married Robert Butler October 19, 2013.

Sandy was a member of Hot August Nights and Cowboy Fast Draw Association.

Sandy Butler is survived by her husband Robert Butler; brother Rodney Olson and wife Jennifer; her children Lisa and husband Theron; Andre and wife Debra; Rod and wife MaraLei; Curtis and wife Paula; twelve grandchildren; Jeff, Jeremy, Rodney, Dalton, Bailei, Ava, Aundrea, Elizabeth, Heather, Mike, Meagan and Trace and seven great grandchildren.

Cancer did not corrode our mother's faith, shatter her hope, conquer her spirit or silence her courage. She amazed us with her bravery as she met her challenge with dignity and grace because in her heart she knew that cancer could not steal her eternal life.

Our mother was the pillar of her family and her presence will surely be missed. Her love will guide our lives until we are with her again.

We ask that you join us for Sandy's Celebration of Life Ceremony Saturday July 5th in the evening between 6:00pm and 10:00pm. Please call Debra at 775-742-8329 or email for details.

In lieu of flowers we ask that all donations be made in Sandy's name to Reno Oncology Consultants, 6130 Plumas St. Reno, NV 89519
