Vija was born in Riga, Latvia July 15, 1937 and passed away Feb. 29, at home in Sparks NV surrounded by her family and friends. She is survived by 1 brother, 3 children, Valdis, Lolita and Anita; 7 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild. A memorial service will take place on March 6, at 2:00 pm at Sparks Christian Fellowship. She will be greatly missed and never forgotten.

I worked with Vija for several years at MDOT. A very interesting woman & very very real. I liked & admired her very much. I only saw her once after she moved to NV...but it was wonderful to catch up on her life. She had no phoniness about her, a very admirable woman. & I will miss her.
