William L. "Bill" Robinson

Bill Robinson, 85 years young, of Doyle, California, entered into his eternal life in Heaven on Friday, November 15, 2013. He was born in Doyle on September 3, 1928, to Samuel and Katherine Robinson. Bill graduated from Lassen High School in 1946 and lived his entire life in Doyle.

Bill joined the Army in January 1951 and served in the Korean War, stationed in Germany until December 1952 remaining in the Army Reserves until August 1956.

Bill always enjoyed operating and repairing equipment and vehicles leading him to self-employment, owning Bill's Backhoe Service and Pete's Garage. He also raised cattle and hay on the family ranch.

Bill served on the Plumas Sierra Rural Electric Board of Directors for 26 years, he received a pin from the Sierra Valley Grange for being a 50 year member, served numerous years on the Lassen County Fair Board, and the Doyle School Board. He was an active member of the Doyle Community Church, the Doyle Senior Center, and the Doyle Volunteer Fire Dept.

Bill was a lifelong supporter of 4-H and the FFA and was a loyal buyer at the Lassen and Plumas/Sierra Fair Livestock Auctions. He loved supporting all youth programs and was always ready to donate his time or make contributions.

Bill loved to travel, making numerous trips to various locations always resulting in making new friends.

Bill is survived by his wife Kay Robinson; brother Stuart Robinson; two daughters: Kathy Paulson (Dan) and Wilma Kominek (Tom); three step-children: Mark Evans, Patricia Evans, and David Evans (Barbara). He is also survived by 16 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, and was "Uncle Bill" to many. He is preceded in death by his parents and brother Leland Robinson.

A memorial service will be held at Walton's Colonial Mortuary in Susanville on Saturday, December 14, 2013, at 1:00 p.m., followed by a potluck reception at the Doyle Senior Building.

To our beloved husband, father, brother, grandfather, great-grandfather, Uncle, and friend, we will miss you dearly, rest in eternal peace.
