Lorna Frances Bambrick

Lorna Frances Bambrick (nee Dennison, 1921-2014) died Valentine's Day, in Reno, Nevada. She was 92 years young, married for 62 years to Walter John Bambrick who died three years ago. She is survived by her seven children: Penny, Cathie, Barbara, Michael, Wally, Jimmy, and Jake; sisters: Barbara, June, and Sheila; and brother, Paul.
Lorna was the eldest of six children born to James Dennison and Theresa Element of Ottawa, Canada. Lorna married Walter in 1948.
After a decade in Ottawa on Rockcliffe Air Force Base, Lorna moved to the U.S. with her family in 1962. First to Washington, D.C., then New York City, then Dayton, Ohio, then Ramsey, New Jersey where they settled for a number of years, long enough for their brood to finish high school.
After the children flew the coop, they continued their journey: back to New York, then on to Lock Haven, Pennsylvania, and ultimately, to Los Angeles, California, where they settled for twenty-two years. Lorna worked as a driver for National Rent-A-Car during her Southern California years. She loved her job and her friends.
Walter retired in 2000 and relocating to Reno in 2002, to be near their daughter, Cathie. In Reno, Lorna maintained her last home with Walter., Lorna was active in her church, loved by her children, and a friend to many. She will be missed by all who knew her.
Visitation on Thursday, February 20 from 2-4 pm at Mountain View Mortuary. Funeral at St Albert the Great Church on Friday, February 21 at 1 pm with burial to follow at Mountain View Cemetery. A reception to celebrate Lorna's life will be held at Cathie and Rob's home following the burial.
