Robert Russell "Grandbob" Hamilton passed away on March 16, 2014. Born on June 3, 1943, he was raised in Rochester, NY and lived in several places before settling in Nevada. He passed away surrounded by family and his love in his Sparks, NV home of 30 years. Bob spent most his life creating hand-crafted jewelry under the name of Hamilton Custom Cast. He also taught Tai Chi for almost 40 years.
Bob was a unique and amazing man who brought laughter and fun to all who were fortunate enough to know him. Artist, drummer, teacher, friend, father, jeweler, brother, lover, uncle, grandpa, Buddhist, and mentor, you will be missed by so many! We have benefited immeasurably from your friendship!
Bob was predeceased by his wife Carol and his older brother William. He is survived by his brother Russell of New Haven, CT, his sister Linda Hamilton Archer of Nairobi, Kenya, and partner Jane Dunn as well as numerous Hamilton nieces, nephews, and cousins. Locally he is also survived by loving family and friends.
There will be a celebration of Bob's life on April 20, 2014 at 6pm at the River School Farm in Reno. In lieu of flowers the family asks that you make a donation in his name to Gentiva Hospice or Food Bank of Northern Nevada. Further details at firstname.lastname@example.org.
