Russell Alan Moore Obituary
Russell Alan "Ras" Moore

Russell Alan "Ras" Moore, 54, of Reno passed away peacefully on March 24, 2014 at Renown South Meadows. Russell was born on May 25, 1959 to Harold Charles and Beverly (Rouzer) Moore in Glendale, California. Russell lived in Reno for the last 18 years and had numerous jobs including Graphic Designer where he used his gift of proof reading, delivery driver and courier. His hobbies included, photography, sports, art, listening to music and going to concerts with his friends. He liked to cook and wrote recipes for a chili cookbook, that he always fancied that he would write. He very much enjoyed the annual camping trip in Yosemite with family and friends, the "RAMI" which was named for him. Russell supported his son's development in sports by coaching T-ball and Little League RCLL.

Ras is survived by his devoted wife of 20 years Mary E. McLoughlin Moore, his two beautiful sons Samson Andrew Moore and Quinn Parker Moore, his mother Beverly Moore Houston, his two brothers Terry (Alicia) Moore and Ron Moore, his nieces Amber, Courtney and Ana, his aunt Darlene Howser and his cousins Roy (Maggie) and Scott (Diane) Howser and Cheryl (Mark) Lawrence and many friends "old" and "new".

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, April 12, 2014 at Ross, Burke and Knobel Mortuary, 2155 Kietzke Lane, Reno at 2:00 pm. A reception will follow the service at the mortuary.

The family would like to thank the doctors and the staff at Renown South Meadows for their support and never giving up hope. The family would also like to remind everyone how important it is to have yearly exams with their doctors. Early detection can and does save lives. Sadly, Russell just waited to long.

Ras will be missed by all who knew him. We will always remember his hugs and the good times we shared.

With Ras's generous anatomical gift, he could touch up to 50 people's lives to help them heal. In this way he is our hero and still lives in others.

In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to Wells Fargo Bank, Russell "Ras" Moore Memorial Account, for his boys.
