Patricia Taelour Obituary
Patricia M. Taelour

Patricia Taelour, 82, passed away July 4, 2014, at St. Mary's Hospital in Reno, Nevada.

Pat was born May 15, 1932, to Orr and Virginia Johns, in Elko, Nevada.

Pat grew up in Elko, and after high school, married Dan Taelour, (former Police Chief). Together they raised their 3 children in Elko and were involved in all their activities including Little League Baseball, football, band concerts and such. She was very active in the Elko County Girl Scout Council in directing camps and troop consulting. The family enjoyed camping, hunting, fishing, and wonderful times spent at Lamoille with Orr and Virginia. Pat also worked in retail management.

After Dan retired from the Elko Police Department, they moved to Reno, where Pat got her Real Estate License and managed large apartment complexes until her retirement..

Pat was always known for her creative and delicious cooking, and ability to feed a crowd with ease. She had a great sense of humor, sometimes offbeat, but always with lots of laughter and love. Her endless caring and support of her family, right down to helping raise her grandchildren and great grandchildren will never be forgotten.

She enjoyed playing her electric organ, playing golf, and following professional golf and football on tv. In the last 25 years, she traveled to Maui once or twice a year to spend time with daughter Sandy's family, and created lasting wonderful memories.

Her wisdom, compassion, and guidance will be greatly missed by all of us.

She is survived by daughter Sandy Carr, Lahaina, Hawaii, sons David and Dennis Taelour (Conna) of Reno, Nevada, grandchildren Kelly Carr, Lindsey and Daniel Taelour (Brandy), 5 great-grandchildren, and brother Don Johns (Judy) of Elko.

She was predeceased by her parents, husband Francis "Dan" Taelour, and brother Dan Johns.

There will be no funeral, in accordance with her wishes. A family celebration of her life will be held at a later date.
