Erna was born on September 17.1920 in Plausnitz Germany, the daughter of Gustav and Anna Gerber. She passed away at Rosewood Rehabilitation Center in Sparks on May 9, 2010. Erna served as a nurse in the German Air Force during World War II. She was captured by the Russians and managed to escape. After the war she worked in the U.S. military hospital Regensburg, Germany.

In the early 1950's she emigrated to the United States via Canada. In 1956 in Reno Erna married Clovis Bull. In 1957 she became a citizen of the United States.
She was employed as a nurse for a number of years at Washoe Medical Center. She then took a job in Dr. Sonderegger's office as his nurse which lasted 33 years until his retirement.
She was preceded in death by her parents Gustav and Anna Gerber, her brother Ernst of Germany and her husband Clovis Bull of Reno. She is survived by her sister-in-law Erika Gerber of Germany.
A celebration of life will be held in her memory at Casale's Halfway Club, 2501 E. Fourth St., Reno. NV from 1:00 P.M. to 4:00 P.M. Sunday, June 6, 2010. No flowers please.
