Paul Moore died on September 18, 2012, at the age of 78 in the comfort of his Reno home, surrounded by his family. Paul was born to Raymond and Luella Moore in Dayton, OH in 1933. He was the middle of three Moore children and the family moved to St. Louis, MO when he was a young boy. He went to Ouachita Baptist University in Arkansas and served in the U.S. Army in Germany in the early 1950's. In St. Louis, MO Paul met and married the love of his life, Helene Besmer (Moore). They moved to California soon after marrying and settled in the San Jose area. Paul worked in Facilities Management in the aerospace industry for 33 years. Helene preceded Paul in death in March, 1968.
Paul is survived by his sister, Ruth DeClue, brother, David Moore, children Jeanne (Ernie) Quintana, Kevin Moore and Colleen Christie, and seven grandchildren, Kristen, Julie, Erica, Tyler, Jenna, Justin and Nicole.
Paul's kindness, generosity, faith and hard work will be what we remember most about him. He loved working in his backyard garden oasis and missed this the most when he could no longer get up the stairs to the top of the hill. Throughout the time his kids and grandkids were in school, Paul volunteered countless hours to St. Patrick's Church and Catholic School in San Jose, and to Bishop Manogue High School in Reno. He was frequently recognized for the time, money and commitment he gave freely.
Paul will be forever loved and missed by his family and friends who loved him dearly.
A viewing will be held from 6-7pm Wednesday, Sept. 26th at Waltons Funeral Home, 875 W. 2nd St. in Reno followed by the Rosary at 7pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10am on Thursday, Sept. 27th at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church, 100 Bishop Manogue Drive, Reno.
